Of Cabbages and Kings and Charley

Old Public Information films and my songs. Well, my remixes actually. Here’s a video I made for my remix of Khartomb’s Cabbage & Kings, using and edit from “Charley’s March of Time”, a British Public Information film from 1948 by Halas and Batchelor.

Peel Session band Khartomb return with a new EP

One-time Peel Sessions band Khartomb have come out of musical retirement to record some new songs. Their new EP Shut it Down/Cabbages & Kings features two of those songs, plus mixes by The Only Michael and remixes by me! The EP is available to stream and buy on Khartomb’s Bandcamp, and you can hear it on this blog too…

Now You’re Talking

Paul, The Phone is Ringing – Official Video by mistrust. Music by Tim Blackburn (aka mistrust) / vocals by Katie B (Mrs B)/ film footage from Now You’re Talking (1927) – Fleischer Studios Silent Cartoon.

Following my recent attempts to mix some of my original songs and remixes with “found” Black and White films from the 1920′s and 30′s that seem to match together. Paul, the phone is ringing, along with a film about telephones. Geddit!

Now You’re Talking is a black and white, silent film that was created as an educational video.
